Synopsis:
After breaking up a gang of crooks with his dog Krypto, Superboy returns home. He finds that his dummy stand-in for Clark Kent is broken, so he asks Krypto to dump it in the river. Krypto is seen by Professor Lang, who believes Krypto killed Clark.
Krypto is hunted down and scheduled for execution. Superboy says he can’t find Clark’s body to protect his secret identity. Krypto is executed, but immediately thereafter Clark Kent turns up alive, exonerated the extinguished mutt.
Another crook, Gadget Grimes, is disappointed because he was given a mind-reading helmet which could have read Krypto’s mind. He junks the helmet which Superboy recovers. Krypto is then revealed to have been feigning death. He was working with Superboy to make sure the helmet was never used.
