Synopsis:
Using a special plasm clay, Boris Nickaloff creates a life-like man inside a cave. He is then able to bring his sculpture to life and use it for crime. The sculpture, which Nickaloff names Czar, is invulnerable to normal weapons. Hawkman, initially believes that he is dealing with a vampire, but his silver bullets fail.
After his first battle with Czar, Hawkman tracks down the creator. He learns that Czar needs to breathe, so he selects a bola from his weapons collection. Czar kidnaps Shiera, while Hawkman is away. When the two meet again, Hawkman attempts to use the bola to strangle Czar. Boris intervenes and is killed. Czar flees, but Hawkman kills him too.
