Synopsis:
Green Lantern travels to Oa, so that the Guardians of the Universe can remove the hypnotic compulsion put on him by Betty Sloane. On the way, a powerful force draws GL to the planet Aoran. The force is controlled by Evil Star, a would-be conqueror. Green Lantern battles Evil Star and his Starling henchmen. GL is finally overcome. Evil Star then takes GL's ring, disguises himself as Hal, and goes to Oa to destroy the Master Power Battery.
Trapped on Aoran, Hal uses Betty's hypnotic pendant to hypnotize his Starling captors. He orders one of them to take him to Oa. Hal battles Evil Star, and after deducing the villain's weakness, overcomes him. GL's ring is destroyed, so the Guardians issue him a replacement. Evil Star is imprisoned on Oa, and the hypnotic compulsion on Hal is finally removed.
