Synopsis:
The Challengers of the Unknown investigate the appearance of a living volcano man near an inactive volcano. Light glows from inside the volcano, so Prof and Red go inside while Ace and Rocky search the outside for the volcano man.

Inside the volcano, Prof and Red find Dr. Edward Gruner. Gruner is creating a volcano man from a molten pit. Once successfully created he unleashes it against the pair of Challengers.

Outside the other Challs have located another volcano man. They are unable to stop him and accidentally split him into two separate beings. They race inside the volcano in time to save Red and Prof, but another larger Volcano Man rises from the pit. This Volcano Man was not created by Gruner and is a natural product of the volcano. The Challs take control of the doctor’s volcano men and use them against the larger one, trapping them all inside the volcano. Finally the team seals the volcano with dynamite.
