Synopsis:
The Challs are called to South America to investigate the disappearance of two explorers, Jarvis and Hinton. The men show up under the influence of the golden god, Xechulan. They steal sacred gold pieces from a village and flee into the jungle using supernatural powers.
The Challs follow the men by splitting into two teams. Ace and Rocky find nothing so they return to the village where the explorers show up again, without memory of the raid on the village.
When Prof and Red return, they appear to be turned to gold and under the influence of Xechulan as well. They steal gold items as well, but when they escape into the jungle, the explorers follow. Finding a gold cache, the explorers steal it, moving it to the location of the already stolen items. They had faked being under the influence of Xechulan to get the gold. The Challs show up, having faked their own thefts in order to be led to the stolen items.
