Comments:
Matt Cable learns the truth about Swamp Thing in this story.

Synopsis:
Matt Cable leads a small expedition into the swamps to capture Swamp Thing. He finally succeeds by smothering Swamp Thing's body in a chemical foam substance. The muck monster is then transported back to Washington for study.

Swamp Thing is placed in a glass cage from which he escapes. Guards, attempting to recapture him, accidentally shoot Professor Degrez, the lead scientist. Swamp Thing is recaptured and placed in a stronger cage. Matt Cable decides to go inside to communicate with the monster. Swamp Thing speaks, telling Cable that he is Alec Holland.

Cable now regrets his actions and engineers an escape. With the help of Abby and Bolt, Cable rescues Swamp Thing and torches the lab. Swamp Thing is smuggled to safety inside Degrez's coffin. The destruction of the lab leads the government to conclude that Swamp Thing was destroyed too. Once in the clear, Swamp Thing returns home to the swamps.
