Synopsis:
John Constantine returns to his apartment in London. He finds his junkie friend Gary Lester in the bathroom covered with insects. After killing the bugs, John questions Lester. He learns that the junkie was recently in Tangier. While there, Lester met a young boy who was possessed by a demon. He performs an exorcism and trapped the demon, Mnemoth, in a bottle which he brought back to London where he expected to find Constantine.
The demon attempted to coerce Lester into releasing him from the bottle. Since John wasn't home, the junkie mailed the bottled demon to America where he thought it would reach John. Constantine phones Papa Midnite in New York and learns that the hunger demon is loose.
John travels to the Sudan to meet with a shaman. The medicine man had imprisoned the demon in the boy using a binding spell. However, the boy was found by slave traders and sold. John learns how to bind the demon once again.
After picking up Lester from London, John arrives in New York. He visits Papa Midnite and leaves Lester in his care. On the street, John witnesses a man with insatiable hunger caused by the demon. Constantine traces the demon to a church, but it is too powerful for him to stop alone. He flees, leaving the demon to possess a priest.
