Green Lantern and Flash learn each other’s secret identities in this story.
Synopsis:
Iris West and Barry Allen are due to vacation on the west coast. Iris’s editor assigns her to interview, test pilot, Hal Jordan while she is in Coast City.
While returning from a deep space mission, Green Lantern thinks about his upcoming weekend with Carol Ferris. He pours on the speed to get back to Earth quickly, when suddenly he crashes on the world of Spectar. Spectar is in a different dimension than Earth, but it travels in a similar orbit. When GL surpassed light speed, he inadvertently passed over between worlds. The inhabitants of Spectar greet GL and explain a little of their world to him. They send him on his way, but they also secretly launch a plot to conquer Earth.
When Green Lantern returns to Earth, his friend Pieface notices that he is acting strangely, including speaking his oath incorrectly. He reminds GL, who has switched to Hal Jordan, that he is due to come to the Sea Palace for the weekend.
At the resort, Hal Jordan is introduced to Barry Allen and Iris West who are also staying there. When Barry explains that he is from Central City, Hal reacts strangely. Then he wanders off down the beach. Pieface explains to Barry that Hal is acting very odd, so Barry agrees to keep an eye on him. Hal returns shortly, but the next day wanders off again.
Barry follows Hal to a cave where Hal switches to Green Lantern. The Spectarns begin speaking to GL through his ring and command him to capture the Flash. Barry who doesn’t hear the commands changes into his Flash costume and attempts to help his friend. Green Lantern tries to capture Flash and chases him out of the cave into an open lot. Finally Flash races into the city and changes back to Barry Allen which gives GL the slip.
Green Lantern lures Flash out of hiding by creating a tidal wave. Flash intervenes to stop the wave, and the chase begins again. Green Lantern finally catches his prey by making him top heavy with a blast from his ring. Then he delivers Flash to the Spectarns. The Spectarns send GL back to Earth without his memory of the past events. Then they probe Flash in an attempt to learn the secret of his super-speed.
When Green Lantern arrives on Earth, he runs into Pieface and learns that his memory has been lost. Now Barry Allen is missing after following Hal down the beach. Hal commands his power ring to reveal the lost portion of his memory. After learning of the plot, he flys back to Spectar.
Upon his arrival, Green Lantern frees Flash, and together they defeat the Spectarns. They destroy the data collected about super-speed by the Spectarns and the machine used to gather it. When they return home Flash reveals his identity of Barry Allen to Green Lantern. The two then return to the resort where their girlfriends are.
