Comments:
This story is continued in part from the second story of Wonder Woman #6.
Synopsis:
Wonder Woman meets the challenge of Sgt. Doot who believes Amazon strength is a fraud. A team of female olympic athletes is sent to Paradise Island to compete against Paula's former slave girls, now prisoners receiving Amazon training.
Cheetah disguises herself as athlete Kay Carlton and infiltrates the group as does Gail Young who warns Wonder Woman of the Cheetah's presence. The Amazon prisoners easily defeat the olympic athlete, except for Kay who cheats to win.
Kay, really the Cheetah, then steals the magic girdle from Hippolyte and uses it to battle Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman successfully defeats Cheetah in combat, then rescues her mother whom the Cheetah has held captive. Using her magic lasso, Wonder Woman discovers the Cheetah's true identity and leaves her on Paradise Island in hopes that she can be reformed.
