Synopsis:
Swamp Thing traces Matt Cable and Abigail Arcane to Gotham City. Police spot him and soon Commissioner Gordon summons Batman for help. While Batman hunts for Swamp Thing, the muck monster follows leads which eventually lead him to Matt and Abby. He rescues them and is then found by Batman.

Batman starts a fight, but Swamp Thing tries to avoid the conflict. Unable to communicate his true intentions, Swamp Thing flees. He then tracks down Nathan Ellery, the head of the Conclave, the organization which killed Linda Holland. Swamp Thing has an opportunity to take revenge, but he holds back. Ellery still dies during an accidental fall. Batman arrives too late to save Ellery, and Swamp Thing has already disappeared.
