Synopsis:
In Yucatan, Mavis Trent and Midway City archaeologists wire the museum of great discoveries. When they arrive home, however, they remember nothing, not even their own names. Their Absorbascons reveal nothing, so Hawkman and Hawkgirl fly to the peninsula, where they are attacked by Chac.
A Mayan chief, Chac gained immortality and fantastic weaponry when an alien crash-landed in the jungle centuries ago. Chac ruled his people until he was overthrown for his tyranny, and because of his immortality he was punished with amnesia. In the present, the archaeologists had hired him as their guide, unwittingly restoring his memory when they uncovered his city. In return for this, he used an herb to induce amnesia in them.
Intent on ruling the world, Chac defeats the winged crimefighters with weapons which control wind, air, and lightning, and seals them in a tomb. They escape using one of his own weapons, and succeed in overcoming the Mayan. After turning him over to the Mexican authorities, they restore the archaeologists' memories with a Mayan antidote.
