Synopsis:
Bandits steal a shipment of gold from a mine in the hills near where Justin and Moresby are conducting an archaeological dig. Justin chases the bandits as the Shining Knight, but Victory is wounded during the pursuit. The bandits then threaten a local blacksmith, forcing him to make golden horseshoes out of the stolen gold to smuggle them through the passes.

A short time later, Justin finds the blacksmith and hires him to make new shoes for Victory. The bandits think the blacksmith's double-crossed them. A fight ensures which ends in the capture of the outlaws. The blacksmith is rewarded when the mine owner offers to open a dude ranch in town with horses. This will help the town thrive and provide work for the smith.
