Synopsis:
Hal Jordan picks up Sue Williams to bring her to his uncle’s seventieth birthday party. She informs Hal that Red Peters has escaped jail. Hal’s uncle Jeremiah served as the judge that put Peters away, Hal’s brother Jack was the district attorney, and Green Lantern was the man who captured Peters. Sue believes Hal’s brother Jim is GL, so all three men responsible for Peters sentence are going to be at the party. Sue believes Peters will try and take revenge on the Jordan’s.
Hal and Sue arrive at the Jordan house, and Hal is informed that the party is a costume party which will make it harder to spot Peters. Sue informs Jim of the news and expects him to intervene as Green Lantern. While Jim denies the allegation, he puts on a GL costume to please Sue and introduces himself at the party as the real Green Lantern. Hal, who is really Green Lantern, uses his ring to keep up his brother’s disguise.
Hal learns that the mayor is coming to the party dressed as Peters, who often committed crimes dressed as a british highwayman. A man dressed in that outfit arrives, and the guests believe it is the mayor. Outside, Jim runs into another man dressed identically. The two knock each other out and are discovered by Hal, dressed as Green Lantern. The knocked out man is really the mayor.
Inside, the real Red Peters has cornered Jeremiah and Jack who still believe it is really the mayor. Green Lantern arrives in time to prevent any harm. Later, he slips away and Sue once again believes that it was Jim who was the hero, Green Lantern.
