Synopsis:
After testing a new rocket motor at the Ferris Aircraft Company, Hal Jordan visits the office in hopes of gaining a date with Carol Ferris. Although he is rebuffed by Carol, he learns of a celebrities ball to which Green Lantern has been invited, and that Carol will be attending.
Hal, as Green Lantern, powers up his ring and attends the ball. He spends the evening with Carol, and they exchange a kiss on the balcony. He spots a nuclear missile during the kiss and rushes off to investigate.
The missile is yellow in color, with a red tip. Hal creates a net using his ring, and catches the missile by it’s tip. He then returns the missile to the army, where he is informed that the missile was not nuclear and was intended to destory a nearby building which contains research about a government hydrogen-power project.
Hal questions men manning nearby civil defense posts and tracks the launch point of the missile to a camouflaged building. There he encounters Dr. Parris, a scientist who is also developing H-power. Green Lantern defeats the doctors defenses and after capturing him, returns him to the military for trial.
When he returns to the Ferris company offices, he finds Carol is upset with him for leaving so quickly, and kissing with his eyes open.
