Synopsis:
Greystone the magician contacts the Phantom Stranger to alert him to problems with his disappearing act. He has made two people disappear entirely, and they have not returned. The Phantom Stranger agrees to undergo the same disappearing act. He falls into a subbasement at the theatre where he finds the other two victims trapped. A hypnotic gas has dulled their senses. Phantom Stranger helps them escape and exposes the two swindlers behind the trick. The crooks were trying to extort money from the victims' mother with the trick.
