This story features the first appearance of Cave Carson, Bulldozer Smith, Christie Madison, and their digging machine the Mighty Mole.

Synopsis:
When a radio tower and several freight cars are mysteriously pulled underground, authorities contact Cave Carson and expert on underground exploring to solve the mystery. Cave leaves his team of Bulldozer Smith and Christie Madison on the surface to complete a digging machine, the Mighty Mole, while he investigates.

Days later a message tied to a balloon brings Bulldozer and Christie to Cave’s rescue. Cave has learned that an underground magnetic monster is responsible for the destruction. After a while underground chase in the Mighty Mole, Cave is able to destroy the monster using the Mole’s thermo-ray. With the menace defeated, the trio of explorers return to the surface.
