Synopsis:
While vacationing at a hunting lodge belonging to Marie's uncle, Doctor Thirteen hears the screams of a man under attack. He arrives too late to save the man who was apparently the victim of an animal attack. No animal tracks are discovered, leading some to conclude that it was the ghost dog belonging to blind hermit Bart Harley.

Years ago, when Harley lost his sight he trained his dog Dirk as a guide. Recently, Dirk was shot and killed by three hunters. One of the hunters was the animal attack victim. Doctor Thirteen investigates, but he is unable to prevent the death of a second hunter. He trades places with the third man and barely escapes from a ghost dog.

After recovering from the attack, Doctor Thirteen proves that the ghost dog that attacked him was a real dog coated with luminous paint. The third hunter Harry Acker used the ghost dog story to cover the murder of his friends. He wanted them dead in order to profit from their discovery of radioactive minerals.
