Comments:
It is unclear whether this story should be considered official canon. If so it must take place sometime after the first resurrection of Deimos in Warlord #10 because he is in possession of the Mask of Life. However, his face does not bear the scar he received as a result of his first death. Also the Warlord knows Deimos is alive which he did not learn until Warlord #15. Deimos died again in Warlord #21, so it would need to take place in between those two stories. However, the Mask of Life was intact at the conclusion of those stories and is clearly destroyed in this story.
It is also highly unlikely that Deimos would have the skeleton of Hercules in his lair. This is even more suspicious since Hercules Unbound took place in a future era after this story in present day Skartaris.
Given these details, this story should not be considered canonical.
Synopsis:
After the Warlord escapes from a group of creatures who want to sacrifice him to their god, Deimos finds another way to strike at his enemy. He conjures up a warrior from the past, Arak, plucking him directly from the court of Carolus Magnus. He then brainwashes Arak into attacking Morgan.
The sorceress Angelica has her own plans for Arak and does not want him hurt or killed in Deimos's scheme. She uses the Mask of Life on a skeleton in Deimos's lair. The skeleton is that of Hercules. The hero of legend is restored to life. He attacks Deimos, who is forced to break his spell on Arak. The Son of Thunder returns to his own time period and Hercules vanishes.
