Synopsis:
Arak and Satyricus enter a village looking for supplies. They are surprised to find the village abandoned and discover footprints which suddenly stop on open ground. When they go to the nearby lake to fetch water, Arak spots smoke coming from a cave and investigates. When he enters, Arak is clubbed over the head.
Arak awakens and finds his arms bound. He meets an alchemist who explains that his daughters are to be sacrificed to a dragon. Arak offers to slay the dragon if he is freed. The villagers agree, and the old man Alizar joins the Quontaukan in pursuit of the dragon.
Meanwhile Satyricus has followed the girls and watches as the villagers tie them to a tree. The satyr tries to help the girls only to encounter the dragon, which is actually a dinosaur. Arak arrives and engages the dinosaur in battle. The alchemist is killed, then Arak manages to slay the beast. However, he is thrown off the creatures back. When Satyricus reaches his friend, he finds that Arak was also killed by the fall.
