Synopsis:
Swamp Thing visits the Parliament of Trees to tell them that the crisis posed by the Sprout has been resolved. They warn him of an impending attack by alien forces. The Parliament tell him that he will be destroyed despite their warning.
On four alien worlds, elementals from the Parliament arrive and discover machinery aimed at Earth. The aliens observe the elementals, then activate the machines. On Earth, Swamp Thing's perceptions are increased by the alien machines causing his mind to overload. He attempts to flee the Earth by sending his consciousness into space, but the aliens have prepared for this. As a result Swamp Thing vanishes. The aliens conclude that he no longer poses a threat to their invasion.
On Earth Abby returns from a trip into town to find her home in the swamp wilted and decayed, signaling the fact that her husband is gone.
