Synopsis:
Two off-duty police officers meet at a restaurant to exchange stories about their night on patrol. The first cop encountered a jumper on the Gothamboro Bridge. He was unable to talk the kid out of jumping, but Batman dove off the bridge to rescue the kid. Batman then convinces the boy to get his life together.
The second cop also encountered Batman on this night. Three crackheads took hostages at a deli and were surrounded by the police. They were about to begin killing the hostages when Batman showed up and single-handedly beat them all without losing any innocent people.
After the second story is finished a third cop joins them. He also met Batman after chasing two young kids through the back alleys of Gotham. Batman caught the kids and got them to talk to him. They had been moved to Gotham after their mother died. When their father was also killed, a social worker wanted to break the kids up. Instead they ran away and were living in a cardboard box for months. Batman pledges the assistance of Bruce Wayne to house the kids until family in Florida could be located.
The first two cops do not believe the third story. However, later that morning Bruce Wayne checks up on the kids at Wayne Manor. Alfred promises to start the search for their aunt later that afternoon.
