Synopsis:
When documents are discovered which prove George Washington betrayed the colonies to the British during the Revolutionary War, Rip Hunter is sent back in time to learn the full story. Rip confronts Washington, who admits to the plan, then attempts to have Rip arrested. Rip and his crew escape and return to the present, where George Washington is now known as a traitor.

Not wanting to believe that the country's founding father was a traitor, Rip and his crew make a time trip back to the actual event where Washington betrayed his country. Again evidence shows that Washington conspired with the British to allow General Cornwallis to steal continental money. Rip then tries to prevent the treachery himself.

Working against Washington, Rip gets aboard the colonial ship carrying the currency. However, he realizes too late that the currency is counterfeit. Washington tricked the British to lure the British fleet away from Chesapeake Bay. Rip's intervention threatens to change history. Rip then impersonates General Cornwallis and leads the British troops astray, so that Washington's attack can succeed. Rip then returns to the present with the knowledge that Washington did not betray his country.
