Synopsis:
Superboy arrives in the 30th century just in time to vote in the current Legion election. Invisible Kid is elected leader with the Boy of Steel as deputy. A regular meeting follows, after which the Legionnaires adjourn to Metropolis Arena to entertain children from the Inter-Stellar Orphanage in a charity show. During their performance, an earth tremor interrupts the program and knocks Sun Boy unconscious. Upon walking, however, he has amnesia, and flies off. At the same moment, word reaches the heroes that their Clubhouse has been stolen. Deciding that the latter is the more pressing concern, the Legionnaires return to find an empty pit where the Clubhouse once stood.

The villain responsible, Dr. Regulus, a man clad in golden armor who uses it to draw power from the sun, watches them on his monitor and gloats, particularly over eliminating his major threat. He then steals a second structure, the Trevis Building, and as the Legionnaires come after him, he blasts their craft from the sky. Meanwhile, Sun Boy has wandered into a nuclear power plant and fallen asleep from exhaustion.

The Legionnaires survive and overtake Regulus's ship. Once inside, they split up to locate the criminal. Colossal Boy is overcome by a gigantic robot; Duo Damsel, Phantom Girl, and Brainiac 5 are defeated by a robot duplicate of Cosmic Boy; Superboy is attacked by Kryptonite-wielding robots; Cosmic Boy is knocked unconscious by heavy metal clamps pinning him to a wall; and Invisible Kid is shocked insensible by a charge of sunlight.

Just as Dr. Regulus is about to destroy the heroes, however, Sun Boy, whose memory has returned, appears. The other Legionnaires are freed, and Dr. Regulus delays them long enough to depart in an escape rocket.

The Legionnaires return their Clubhouse and the Trevis Building to their rightful places, and Sun Boy explains how Regulus, once a scientist at his father's atomic plant, had been accidentally responsible for giving him his power long ago. While the heroes express hope that he never returns, Dr. Regulus, now safely hidden, vows to do just that when they least expect it.
