History:
Big Barda was raised in Granny Goodness's orphanage on Apokolips, where, once her battle skills were noted, she was inducted into the Female Fury Battalion, where she quickly rose to lead the group.

She was then taken to be trained for the elite Special Powers Force, ready to serve the command of Darkseid himself. During her training she befriended Scott Free and helped him escape from Apokolips. The two later met again when she too rebelled against Darkseid's plans to wage war against New Genesis and came to Earth. After fighting together on numerous occasions, against Darkseid's minions and other menaces, Scott and Barda fell in love and later married.

Powers:
Barda has above-average strength for a native of Apokolips, which means, compared to humans, she has super-human strength and endurance. Barda is also a highly trained warrior, and a master of all forms of hand-to-hand combat and combat with weapons.

A mega-rod is Barda's most often used weapon. At a flick of a switch, the rod can propel her high into the air or release energy blasts capable of destroying metal. For limited durations, the rod can also increases the pull of gravity on individuals.

Barda wears outfits the can be turned into her battle armor almost instantaneously.
