History:
Circus stunt-cyclist and trapeze artist Kathy Kane was a longtime admirer of the Batman and, when she received a considerable inheritance, decided to become a costumed crimefighter paterned after her idol. She had a mansion constructed atop an abandoned mine tunnel, which became her version of the Batcave, and filled the mine with a state-of-the-art crime-laboratory. She constructed her own Bat-cycle, designed a feminine version of the Caped Crusader's costume, and embarked upon her new career as the Batwoman.

Unfortunately, while she could more than hold her own in physical combat, Batwoman lacked the detective abilities that made Batman the world's greatest manhunter. Thus, she often teamed with Batman and Robin and rarely worked alone. For a brief time she worked as a team with her niece, Betty, who operated as the original Bat-Girl.

Kathy Kane tried retirement for a time, buying a small circus to keep herself occupied. Unfortunately, Kathy found retirement boring, and shortly after donning her Batwoman costume once more, she was murdered by the villainous Bronze Tiger as a ploy in a struggle between Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Assassins.

Powers:
The Batwoman's weapons included a high-powered Bat-cycle with off-road capabilities, and a should bag utility case, which contained sneezing powder puffs, tear gas perfume, an expandable high-tensile hair-net, smoke bomb lipstick, and a periscope lipstick case. The strap of the shoulder bag was actually a detachable bat-bolas, and her bracelets were disguised handcuffs.

The Batwoman was an Olympic-level athlete and a highly skilled hand-to-hand combatant.
