Synopsis:
In the sands of the New Mexico desert, Strong Bow saves the life of a Navajo warrior who nearly drinks from a poisoned water source. The Navajo, Tanoan, perceives Strong Bow's warning as an attack starts a fight. Strong Bow ends the fight and departs in peace. However, he has dropped a piece of gold which Tanoan regards as magic metal of the Pueblo.
Strong Bow continues his travels to the cliff dwelling Pueblo tribe. He is taken to their chief Keresaw who recognizes the brave as the son of his friend Wise Owl. Strong Bow attempts to give the chief the piece of gold, but he finds it missing from his pouch. Even without the gold, Strong Bow is welcomed to the tribe.
The next morning the Pueblo are angry with Strong Bow. Tanoan has followed him and learned the secret entrance to the Pueblo cave dwellings. He now uses smoke signals to summon the rest of the Navajo tribe. Strong Bow leaves the caves, tracks down Tanoan, and captures him before he can share the secret with others of his tribe. Strong Bow then takes his prisoner back to the Pueblo where Tanoan will remain. The Navajo warrior is forced to stay there, but Strong Bow ensures that he will be treated kindly.
