Synopsis:
When a crime boss named Rhymer double-crosses the syndicate, a conflict arises. The syndicate hires a mysterious figure known as the Collector to enact its revenge. The Collector then murders Rhymer's top lieutenant Turk O'Hare. Batman tries to stop him, but fails.

Also on the case is private detective Larry Lance. The Earth-2 version of Larry was married to Black Canary, but he died. Black Canary moved to Earth-1 and is now pursuing this Larry Lance. When Larry decides to catch the Collector on his own, Black Canary helps him by running interference with Batman. Only then do they realize that Larry is the Collector. A fight with Batman leads Larry to an accidental death. Black Canary is disappointed that this Larry was not the same as the one she fell in love with.
