Comments:
This story occurs out of sequence as evidenced by Dean Sourpuss's marriage to Herbert Merrily in this story. It must therefore occur prior to the fourth story of Wonder Woman #38, in which her new name Dean Merrily is used.
Synopsis:
Wonder Woman consoles Dean Meg Sourpuss who is alone on Valentine's Day. The Dean explains that she was once engaged to Herbert Merrily, but her father would not approve of their marriage, so Herbert left town. Now, twenty years later, she is an old maid.
Herbert returns into her life when a crook named Midas learns that Holliday College is getting a shipment of radium. Midas wants to steal it, so he sends Herbert to meet with the Dean and gain inside information. Herbert is forced to go along because he fears that Midas will kill Sourpuss.
The Dean suspects that Herbert is going to help Midas, so she changes the vault combination. Wonder Woman then apprehends Midas. Herbert explains his motives and is forgiven. He then marries Dean Sourpuss.
