Synopsis:
While at sea, Arak tells his companions a tale of his time with the vikings. He and his viking comrades had found a beached whale. Before they could harvest the meat, a rival band of vikings led by Thorgal attack. The battle claims the life of every warrior except Arak who is seriously injured. A valkyrie appears and carries him to Valhalla.

Arak is brought before Othin and the other Norse gods at a feast. He is introduced to Thunor, the thunder god. Loki manipulates the situation to cause a fight between the god of thunder and the Son of Thunder. Arak impresses Thunor by displaying the ability to lift his hammer. The fight ends and the two warriors become friends. The valkyrie then leads Arak back to Earth where he buries his dead comrades. He then returns to the viking clan.
