Comments:
This story takes place during the early part of Barry Allen's career as the Flash. He has not yet married Iris West and is still working to perfect his cosmic treadmill.
Synopsis:
Barry Allen works to perfect his cosmic treadmill. His experiments are interrupted when he remembers a date with Iris West. At their lunch date, Barry discovers that his experiments have magnetized his body. When he steps away to resolve the situation Professor Fallout attacks the city.
The villain is the latest identity assumed by Manfred Mota, the former Atom Smasher. Mota has constructed a neutron bomb and uses it to blackmail Central City. The Flash tries to stop him, but Professor Fallout was prepared. He knocks out the Flash, then traps him in a large model of the atom. Flash escapes uses the same magnetic forces he experienced earlier in the day. He then defeats Mota and sends him back to prison.
John Fox arrives on the scene, but he is unable to reach the Flash before he slips back into the time stream.
