Synopsis:
Demons in Hell collect the bones of the worst people in human history. Using the bones they construct a womb which births a demon child. The child has been created to destroy the Chosen who have recently been identified during the Millennium event. First though, the demon goes to New York to increase its power base on Earth.
The demon transforms a man into a werewolf which then attacks a bag lady on the street. The woman is saved by Deadman and the Spectre. The demon then decides to target his foes. He kidnaps Jim Corrigan and seriously injures him. This also weakens the Spectre, allowing the demon to lure him into a trap.
Deadman assumes control of Madame Xanadu's body and helps to rescue Corrigan. He then locates the Spectre and merges with him. This strengthens the spirit until Xanadu and Kim Liang can bring Corrigan to them. Once the Spectre and Corrigan are united, they both regain strength.
The Spectre and Deadman then journey to Hell to combat the demon. The Spectre merges with the bone womb and uses its power to slay the demon. Deadman is barely able to get the Spectre to leave the bones before their evil forever corrupts him. Following the departure of the heroes, the demon child is reborn, but is forced to remain in Hell in suffering as penance for its failure.
