This story is continued from Doctor Fate #11 and continues in Doctor Fate #13.

Synopsis:
Linda travels to Apokolips as Doctor Fate to rescue Eric whom Darkseid wants dead. Linda battles Darkseid directly then tries to protect Eric from a group of parademons. Eventually the parademons are defeated, but Darkseid explains that their defeat is assured because he rules Apokolips.

Instead of resisting, the two Doctor Fates surrender and using their magic send out feelings of love. These feelings overwhelm Darkseid and cause him to discontinue his attack. However, one of Darkseid's minions disobeys his order to stop the battle. The soldier stabs Eric and kills him.
