Synopsis:
Following the defeat of the alien invaders, Captain Atom and the other leaders of the victorious defenders of Earth receive medals from the President of the United States. Captain Atom also receives a promotion to Major Cameron Scott. He then takes part in several celebrations.
Major Force gets angry about the attention his rival is receiving. General Eiling asks Captain Atom to keep an eye on Major Force. The Captain gets Major Force a role in a commercial, but an eruption of the Major's jealous anger causes him to be fired. When a girl tries to use him to make her boyfriend jealous, Major Force threatens to kill the girl. Captain Atom talks him down. General Eiling concedes that the Major is a problem, but he still has plans to use him.
After the incident, Major Force goes to a bar to console himself. While there, he witnesses an explosion of black light outside caused by the detonation of the gene bomb.
