Synopsis:
Ronnie Raymond and Mikhail Arkadin return to their lives. Ronnie is upset that he no longer has control of the Firestorm matrix. Mikhail faces questions from Major Zastrow about his battle with Firestorm in the desert. Ronnie leaves the house after arguing with his family. He then triggers the fusion into Firestorm when he sees a black man being chased on the freeway.

Firestorm rescues the man who was attacked in a white neighborhood. A mob wanted to set him on fire. The mob attacks Firestorm and the ricochet of a gunshot sets off a gas pump explosion. Green Lantern, who is passing overhead, sees the explosion and investigates.

Green Lantern begins getting the fire under control. The black man wants the neighbor to burn and convinces Firestorm to intercede. The Nuclear Man and Green Lantern then begin to battle. GL eventually talks Firestorm out of the attack. Confused, Firestorm splits and disappears. Green Lantern then deals with the aftermath of the explosion.
