Comments:
At this point, the Thanagarians have still not invented the Relativity-Beam System later used to transport members to the Justice League Satellite Sanctuary, hence their ignorance of teleportation in this story.

Synopsis:
Radiation appears around Egyptian artifacts in the Midway City Museum, including that statue of the dog of Sebek, and when Shiera investigates, she is transported to the Valley of the Crocodile in Egypt. Hawkman trails her there, and finds that many others have been similarly abducted by priests of the crocodile-god Sebek to work in the tombs. Breaching a disintegration force-field which surrounds the valley by coating himself with radiation found at the point of Shiera's disappearance, Hawkman battles a band of the crocodile-garbed priests.

He finds his wife behind a waterfall, and learns that her kidnappers are really agents of C.A.W., the Criminal Alliance of the World, who are looting the tomb of Ramses with their teleported work-force. They had not known of the dog statue in Midway City, which combined with their locally based dog statue transporters to create a long-range teleportation system, which would give them long-range ability to steal. Hawkman frees Shiera, and bests the priests in battle; the dog statue is smashed in the melee.

Upon their return to Midway City, they find their museum's god statue also smashed, along with their own hopes of discovering the secret of teleportation.
