Synopsis:
Ex-con Goldplate Gorney decides to eliminate Batman before returning to crime. He decides to locate Robin, suspecting that the Boy Wonder will be the best athlete at the Gotham track meet. At the meet two boys tie for first place, Hugh Ross and Robert Batson. Dick Grayson has held back in order to protect his secret.

The crooks investigate both the winners. They then kidnap Hugh Ross suspecting that he is Robin. Batman tracks down the crooks with the real Robin. Then Robin outperforms Hugh to convince the gangsters that they have the wrong boy. The crooks manage to elude capture, but Hugh tips off Batman to their hide-out. With Hugh's tip, Batman is able to apprehend Gorney.
