Synopsis:
The clones of the original Newsboy Legion have escaped from Project Cadmus, a secret government installation under the streets of Suicide Slum. The Guardian is sent to retrieve them. However, when the boys begin causing trouble, it draws the attention of Superman. The Guardian tries to get the boys back to the Project without Superman discovering their secret. He almost succeeds, until the boys hop into a Whiz Wagon to escape the Project Cadmus soldiers.
The Guardian finally relents and joins forces with Superman, promising him a explanation once he get clearance from his superiors. The two heroes then follow the Whiz Wagon to the Habitat, where they meet Jude and the Hairies. Jude explains that Project Cadmus has been taken over by an evil presence. Dubbilex helped to get the boys out.
Superman, Guardian, and the Hairies then invade Project Cadmus to free it from the control of evil in the form of Sleez, a former minion of Darkseid. The attack succeeds, Sleez disappears, apparently converted into energy. The boys then meet the original Newsboy Legion, their creators.
