Comments:
This story is continued in part from the first story of Arak/Son of Thunder #20 and continues in Arak/Son of Thunder #22.
Synopsis:
Arak and his companions continue their trek across the desert to reach Albracca where Angelica is holding Malagigi prisoner. Eventually the desert sands give way to a sea of rolling boulders. Johannes instructs the others to enter a stone boat which can be used to navigate the river of stones. After surviving a dangerous waterfall of rocks, the four travelers find a cavern entrance far below the city.
Arak and Valda rapidly climb a massive staircase which leads directly to Angelica's tower. Satyricus and Johannes fall behind. The two warriors surprise the sorceress and quickly overpower her. However, Arak hesitates in delivering a blow that would kill Angelica. She is able to use the moment to regroup and magically knock down Valda. Using her magic ring, Angelica becomes invisible. She then ensnares Arak, Valda, and Satyricus, who has arrived late, in a chain mesh net. With the heroes subdued, the sorceress plans to execute them and reaffirm her power hold on White Cathay.
