Synopsis:
Following the Thanagarian attack on Metropolis, Superman has gone missing. The Guardian attempts to locate him and instead runs into Gangbuster. A fight ensues. The Newsboy Legion drives the Guardian's battlevan into the combatants and into the river. Superman appears to rescue them, but Gangbuster has vanished.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Olsen visits the Ace of Clubs to ask Bibbo for help in locating the missing Man of Steel. Bibbo and his gang take Jimmy's signal watch which is activated. Superman comes to the aid of his friend, then visits the Daily Planet. Perry White informs Superman that Captain Atom has requested his help.

Superman meets Captain Atom in Washington. He is asked to meet with the alien alliance to request a cease fire. The Man of Steel then flies into space to the enemy flagship. He meets with the Dominators and succeeds in obtaining a one-day halt in hostilities. Superman then returns to Earth to attend a meeting of America's meta-humans.
