Synopsis:
The military wants to build a new base in Metropolis, but they can't acquire the land from three local residents. Superman intervenes by talking to the land owners to convince them to sell.
One of the land owners, Reginald Sykes, feigns a serious illness. His doctors claim that he cannot be moved. Superman is suspicious and investigates, learning that Sykes is a crook. The house is filled with stolen goods. Superman exposes and apprehends the gang.
Superman uses the reward money to help the other two land owners, Martha Hoskins and Samuel Rayburn patch up a 30-year old lovers' quarrel. Each of the stubborn lovers had refused to leave their homes behind to get married. Superman reconstucts their two houses into a single house outside of town, and the two are finally wed.
With the land needed finally in possession of the military, Superman helps them by leveling the existing structures, so that the construction of the new base can begin.
