Synopsis:
Blind millionaire John Barnett loses his grandson Jackie in a river. The boy is never found, but Barnett refuses to give up hope. Four years later, Barnett offers a million dollars if his grandson is found. Barnett's lawyer, who is a crook, produces an orphan boy and claims it is Jackie.
Clark Kent and Lois Lane cover the story for the Daily Planet. Clark discovers gangsters operating on Barnett's property. As Superman, Clark confronts them. The crooks get Superman to back off though, when they threaten to tell Barnett the truth about the boy. Fearing that Barnett will suffer a heart attack if he learns that the boy is not Jackie, Superman lets the crooks go.
However, the boy overhears the gangsters reveal the truth. He feels bad and decides to run away. Before he can, he falls in the same river that the real Jackie was lost in. Superman rescues him and returns him to Barnett. Barnett reveals that he knew the truth all along, but wants to keep the boy anyway as his son. With the new family happy, Superman is then free to arrest the gangsters.
