Synopsis:
While diving in the Caribbean Jimmy Olsen discovers a journal written by Nostradamus. Inside is a formula that will grant great power. To complete the formula, Jimmy must gather the tears from a king, a clown, a killer, and a Kryptonian.

Jimmy's quest for tears begins in Dominia where he gets a job in King Miguel's court as a cook. He wins the heart of Princess Lorita. When the king learns that his daughter wants to marry a commoner, he cries. Jimmy gathers the tears and honors King Miguel's wishes by leaving.

Next Jimmy visits the circus to obtain the tears of a clown. At the show the Joker tries to steal a diamond necklace. Jimmy is able to catch the crook, who cries because he was defeated by lowly Jimmy.

Jimmy then visits another country where an assassin is being executed. He is disappointed when the killer does not repent his deeds and cry. However, the executioner cries after completing his task. Jimmy gathers the tears.

Jimmy's quest then brings him to Superman. They visit Superman's Fortress and watch movies that remind the Man of Steel of the tragedies of his past. Jimmy gathers the tears and completes the formula.

The completed concoction begins glowing. Jimmy thinks it is simply neon light which in the time of Nostradamus was great power. He leaves. Superman then takes the formula to another planet. He realized that the combined tears were creating an atomic reaction. It explodes harmlessly on the uninhabited world. Superman then returns to Earth having narrowly averted a disaster.
