Synopsis:
Ralph Dibny and his wife Sue witness a man eat a magazine at a newsstand. Ralph's curiosity is aroused, so he follows the man as the Elongated Man. The trail leads to a building with a sign out front indicating that the magazine eating man is a magician. Although, he initially thinks the man was simply doing a trick, Ralph realizes that the purpose of the trick was to send him a message.

After interpreting the message, Ralph heads to the home of millionaire Warren Savin where crooks have the homeowner and the magician held hostage. The Elongated Man stops the crooks, but he learns they have the magician's daughter held hostage. Using clues, Ralph tracks her down and saves her life too.
