Synopsis:
Mavis Trent discovers a Yeti in the Himalayas, then disappears, leaving behind photographic evidence, which prompts Hawkman and Hawkgirl to launch her rescue. Traveling to the area, Katar saves a young boy from a bear, and the boy’s grateful father fills them in on the Abominable Snowmen legend. They thus remember what the Absorbascon had taught them, but then Hawkgirl is also captured by the Yeti.

An eagle fills Katar in on the remainder of their story: they are aliens from the planet Xardoon, who crash-landed eons ago and lost their memories of their origins, and are now unable to repair their ship. They have managed to keep knowledge of their existence from the rest of the world by teleporting and placing in suspended animation all who see them.

In battling them, Hawkman learns that contact with wood prevents their teleportation device from working, and runs a gauntlet of the powerful snowmen, making it to their village where he finds a Glowstone holding the Earth prisoners in thrall. Freeing Hawkgirl, Mavis, and dozens of others, he then negotiates a truce between the Yeti and the villagers by showing the latter the protection provided by wood.
