Synopsis:
A Peruvian tribal chief contacts Mark Merlin to help him against an evil witch doctor named Sagonar. The witch doctor controls an army of creatures that exhibit super strength and are impervious to spears. Mark tracks the creatures through the jungle and finds Sagonar. He also finds that the creatures are only men in costumes.

Sagonar captures Mark and forces him into one of the costumes. When the headpiece is attached Mark is forced to obey the witch doctor and possesses super strength. Mark leads an attack on a group of jungle police.

Elsa realizes that a strange fruit has an odd effect on the creatures and gives one to Mark. Mark regains his faculties and takes off the headpiece. He then uproots a crop of the witch doctor's plants. It was the fumes of the plants, placed inside the headpiece, that gave Sagonar control of the men in the costumes. When the effect wears off, the men in the creature costumes are restored to normal.
