Synopsis:
J'onn hears a report about a giant creature rampaging near Deauville Beach. He flies to the scene where he finds a martian m'mannix creature. This type of creature is ordinarily dumb, but this one displays unusual intelligence. Investigation shows that the m'mannix is really a disguised martian man like J'onn.

J'onn confront his fellow martain and learns that he is scouting Earth for invasion. J'onn is unable to stop the marauder from returning to the moon where six of his comrades await.

The seven martian invaders soon return to Earth. J'onn faces them alone. When he beats the surprised invaders single-handedly, the martians flee. The Manhunter's ally Zook had been secretly weakening the attackers with fire, which allowed J'onn to prevail. When the marauders try to escape into space, their ships collide and are destroyed, presumedly killing all aboard.
