Synopsis:
After nearly being hanged, Jonah Hex captures the Denbow Boys. However, Jason Leech, a rival bounty hunter hits him from behind, kills the Denbow boys and takes the bodies back to town for the reward. Jonah follows and disputes their claim, but he has no proof. The sheriff offers both men a chance to earn more money by apprehending Dutch Rafferty.
While Jonah loads up a mule with supplies for the hunt, he is approached by writer Oswald Hotchkiss who wants to document Hex's adventures. He offers to pay Hex, so Jonah allows him to tag along. Before long, Jonah catches up to Rafferty and apprehends him. He then heads into the desert because Leech and his men are following.
During the night, Hotchkiss signals Leech. Jonah catches him, but it is too late. Leech kills Hotchkiss, then takes Jonah's prisoner and supplies. However, Jonah secretly loaded the canteens on the mule with sand instead of water. Leech and his men run out of water and kill one another for the last of it. Leech alone survives. Jonah finds him, but the bounty hunter dies before he can tell Jonah where Rafferty is. Jonah rides off without his bounty.
