Synopsis:
Superboy assists the government with the test of a new underground missile. Superboy tracks the missile using his x-ray vision near Fort Knox. After the test is completed, Superboy stays underground, refusing to return to the surface. The scientist in charge of the missile test believes that Superboy was contaminated by radiation from the missile and is staying underground to prevent the radiation from spreading.

While underground, Superboy finds several gold deposits and begins collecting gold. He molds the gold into ingots, amassing a fortune. After two days he drills into Fort Knox and places his gold inside. While tracking the missile, Superboy's x-ray vision transmuted the gold inside Fort Knox into lead. To prevent a worldwide economic scare, Superboy stayed underground until the gold was replaced. When his mission is complete, Superboy's returns to the surface keeping the secret of the accident to himself.
