Synopsis:
Swamp Thing travels through space until he reaches J586, a planet inhabited by sentient plant people. When Swamp Thing forms a body, he does so with the bodies of the plant people. Their consciousnesses merge with his own causing mass panic and confusion. Medphyl, the Green Lantern of this world, is able to separate the people and isolate Swamp Thing's consciousness.
Swamp Thing explains his desire to return to Earth after he learns how to change his bio-electrical pattern. Medphyl helps him accomplish the goal, while Swamp Thing reanimates the body of the Green Lantern's dead mentor Jothra. Once his training is complete Swamp Thing leaves J586.
On Earth, Adam Strange arrives at the home of Abby Cable to inform her that Swamp Thing is still alive and traveling through space. His story sounds crazy, so Abby dismisses him as a lunatic.
