Synopsis:
Dick Kampton is invited to Metropolis to visit his rich uncle Cuthbert. Clark Kent is invited along too, along with Dick's cousin Fred and his friend Horton. Horton quickly learns that Cuthbert is using the visit to evaluate his nephews and name an heir.

Horton convinces Fred to use trickery to make Dick look like a hick. Clark realizes the boys are conspiring to make Dick look foolish, so he secretly helps as Superboy. When their tricks fail, Fred and Horton suspect Superboy's involvement. They send him on a wild goose chase, then convince Cuthbert that Dick is unreliable.

When Superboy returns, he uses a trick of his own to get Fred and Dick to work together. Fred confesses that he used tricks against Dick. Horton is then blamed for instigating the tricks.
